Employer ID Number: 27-5317281
New Home, New Hope is the latest development of more than 20 years of mission partnership between Dunwoody Baptist Church and Stephen Bandela.
The core approach of New Home, New Hope is to build relationships with local refugee families in Clarkston, Georgia, to help meet both their physical and spiritual needs.
New Home, New Hope currently ministers to more than 50 families in more than six apartment complexes in Clarkston.
Engaged apartments include: Indian Valley (our ministry center location), Willow Branch, Christopher Woods, Fox Trail, Southern Place, The Lakes of Clarkston and Indian Creek.
Our greatest challenges are language barriers and a reluctance on the part of refugees to explore spiritual matters. New Home, New Hope responds to those challenges with consistent prayer and adapting the ministry’s approach to match the refugee and his/her cultural background.
Our ministry is unique in the Clarkston area in that (1) our approach is relational, not project-oriented, (2) our director has linguistic abilities in Telegu, Hindi, Urdu and Nepali, and (3) our ministry is focused on establishing personal relationships with Clarkston's refugee community that will be strong enough to continue even after the families move on to new locations.
Future goals for New Home, New Hope include developing a Bible Training Center, continuing to grow and cultivate relationships with refugees even after they move away from Clarkston, and creating a sustainable refugee ministry in Clarkston and the surrounding areas.
